Norwegian version of "The Skylark".

The Skylark
(Per Sivle, tr. Finn Tømmerberg)

The little skylark,
   her ways are just so,
When finding a turf top
   without any snow,
Then she starts singing
   her happiest tune,
She thinks that springtime
   will come very soon.
   - Oh hey! Oh hee! Qh teereeleetee! Oh teereelee teereeleetee!

The little skylark,
   she acts just like this,
When finding a sunbeam,
   then rich she is.
She warbles and sings and
   soars to great height
And believes in summer though
   snowdrifts lie white.
   - Oh hey! Oh hee! Qh teereeleetee! Oh teereelee teereeleetee!

Her plate that is
   the heather turf good.
And there she sits down
   to have her own food.
And when she is full,
   she gladly will say
Her thanks to the Lord
   with chirping and lay.
   - Oh hey! Oh hee! Qh teereeleetee! Oh teereelee teereeleetee!

God bless you, you are
   my bird, only you!
God bless your belief
   so glad and so true!
And when I meet coldness
   and snow on my way,
God let me in sun-belief
   sing on that day:
   - Oh hey! Oh hee! Qh teereeleetee! Oh teereelee teereeleetee!
